The professor and her little black Mudkip began their journey across the continent to see all kinds of Pokemon existing and those that awaits discovery. Her little Mudkip followed her everywhere she went, earlier she had a look at it. The specimen was a male who was quite a brave thing, he now walked with confidence around and sometimes jumping in puddles. She thought it would be nice to think about what she would be researching since an idle professor is not a professor at all.
"Hmm, I could make my own lab one day and start giving new trainers their first Pokemon." Valentia thought it was a great idea but for it to work she needed most of all many kinds of Pokemon and then she needed assistants who could help her take care of those Pokemon with her, what a drag. The little Mudkip looked at her yelling something "What is it little one?" the young professor looked at the direction her partner was pointing at. "Hmm, perhaps a rare Pokemon?" she was hoping to see an Eevee as it was her favorite although any rare Pokemon would be fine.
The grass she was looking at moved here and there, something was definitely coming out of it soon enough. She could not hide her excitement.

In the bush is a small little Pokemon. Most of it body is underground and on first look at it appears to be a Pokeball. Nothing out of the normal Pokeball. However, the Mudkip was pointing at it and annoyed it. So it jump out of underground and reveal it whole body. Showing off to be Foongus. "Foo gus fooo foongus!" (Hey it rude to point you know!). Foongus would start hopping up and down and it top would spin. Hopping out of the tall grass and in battle mode. The nearby grass he came out of would be bent and small flowers gotten crushed from it hops. Preparing for battle if they insist to point or try to tame him. Well, he got bad news for them both. A small pokeball-like creature came out of the grass, it was definitely not what she expected although this could be interesting too since Foongus looks very much alike the pokeball. "You could come handy right Foongus?" she tried to not startle it but it seemed to be somewhat angry. From what she remembered Foongus was a grass and poison type which did not favor her Mudkip at all.
 Mudkip lvl 5 Brave Male Torrent Attacks: Tackle, Growl.
She was thinking of an approach to take it out, first she would have to chase it and tire it, nono that would be dangerous as they usually poison people like that. "Jump into the grass Mudkip." she barked and her little partner did just that. Foongus was surprised when its opponent disappeared in the tall grass, it looked in that direction but the grass hid Mudkip really well.
Valentia backed down a little towards a small puddle, she was now observing Foongus for the right moment to attack "Now use growl and relocate quickly." a little growl came from the grass and Foongus did not seem to be bothered much although it faltered at the beginning. "Now tackle." she barked another order and a Pokemon flew out of the grass hitting its opponent slightly knocking it back and on the ground.
Pokemon battles were merciless, this was still a little battle with small Pokemon, she shuddered in the thought of big Pokemon battling. Foongus got up relatively fast and counter-attacked with Absorb, her Mudkip got hit in the face making it shake his head. "Not good. If it keeps using the same move we could lose Mudkip. Give tackle another try." she raised her hands and pointed a finger at the other Pokemon.
The next Tackle was skillfully dodged by the strangely shaped Pokemon who also counter-attacked with Absorb. "Hmm, give it a really really loud growl and then tackle." fighting wasn't what she was enjoying but it was for the good in the end, hopefully Foongus will understand it in the future. The Growl hit right on mark, Foongus backed down looking a bit scared when it was hit hard on the face with a Tackle knocking it back.

Before it could even get up and counter-attack she commanded Mudkip to use Tackle a few times again which in the end hit because their opponent was already down so that was a little hard to avoid. Both Pokemon looked tired but Foongus was almost at its last breath, it did not run or anything which was really brave of it so the professor quickly threw a Pokeball at it trying to claim the prize.

The professor watched as the ball was moving side to side, she hold her breath and then let out a sigh when the ball clicked, Foongus was hers now. She walked towards the Pokeball to pick it up, pressed the middle button and a Foongus materialized in front of her. It immediately started to yell something she did not understand but maybe in time she will, it is common knowledge that those who really like each other understood each other as well.
"Heh, I am sorry Foongus for catching you like that, but you know I want us to be friends." she hoped her new partner understood that. Mudkip said something to his new lady friend as well, they were really communicating with each other. The professor walked quietly towards a berry tree, she could not determine what berry it was since she wasn't really an expert in this area and thought it would be fine to try it. The juicy red berry surprised her in a hot manner, her whole mouth was burning and she was spitting fire.
Both of her Pokemon panicked and ran around her in circles until she ran towards the small puddle to sate her thirst. "Echtschch..." the water was just disgusting but there was no other way. "Well, I'll stop fooling around. How about we keep moving? There is still much ahead of us and if we want to get to the next town we should get moving." with that she put both of her partners into their Pokeball to rest.
The next town was still far away, actually she was just on the Cross Villages outskirt. She took the main road which was very much faster than if she took the "shortcut" through the forrest although she occasionally stopped to look around the bushes, tall grass and trees to see if there was a rare Pokemon such as Eevee as that was her favorite, they would make a good research material.

If the young woman cared to notice, a Pokemon was laying in one of the bushes, taking a snooze. It had eaten a big meal just a short time ago and had layed under the the shaded bush to try and sleep off it's meal. It was laying in it's back in a strange position, what looked to be a smile on it's face as it slept. It snored lightly as it slept, a gentle "vooooo" coming from it's nose. Occasionally it would kick it's leg slightly and roll a bit before setting still in place. It had no idea about the girl, or the ruckus she had just caused fighting the Foogus just moments earlier. Yes, it was in a blissful state of ignorance at this moment, but what would happen if it woke up...  level 4 odor sleuth, tackle, growl, defense curl holding: passho berry |

The professor, took out her map to see where they were and how much longer will it take them to get the to next checkpoint. From what she made of they were far off, "Hmm... How can we get there faster?" she asked nobody in particular and did not think anybody would tell her the answer but what did she just heard. She stopped breathing for a while to make less noise, there it was a little snoring sound. The professor followed the noise to a nearby bush, there was a most cute Phanpy hugging an unidentified berry.
It was really cute how it just slept there she was mesmerized by it, she decided to take a rest despite wanting to get to the next town faster mainly because she has never seen a Phanpy sleep. She sat there in front of the Pokemon and observed, she made sure to make as little noise as possible. Both of her Pokemon were back at their balls still resting, she did not want to interrupt their sleep by bringing them out to observe as well.

The little elephant Pokemon squealed and yelped in it's sleep. It had started to have a nightmare! It moved around as it were trying to run, and rolled and wiggled a bit for a few minutes. After a moment, it opened it's eyes in shock and looked around. It took a moment to realize that there was a human in front of it, and that most likely that that human had watched it sleep. It cooed out a soft "Phaaaaaan!" and covered it's eyes with it's trunk, embarrassed. level 4 | Bashful | Female odor sleuth, tackle, growl, defense curl holding: passho berry |
