Well, nothing more special than anybody else. He's typical of a man his age. Searching for his lot in the world, acceptance. It's the average story. But that's just why he became a trainer in the first place. His life was just so normal and lackluster that he resolved he simply had to create the adventure himself. And he has. Al is a regular kid searching for something past his regular eyes. He's certain there's more to this world than meets the eye. Alaricus puts on an adventurous and courageous bravado to impress others. He's optimistic and outgoing and most people seem to be a bit overwhelmed by him. Really though he's a pretty meek little kid who's been through enough regular stuff to know that he shouldn't push the envelope. He's been through your classic share of abandonment and being, unbeknownst to most, pretty sensitive he's been notably scarred. Alaricus can be rather eccentric and unpredictable. He has an outstanding intelligence, which has made him slightly arrogant. He throws off a narcissistic face and jokes about being so great, but really he's just trying to hide how closed off he is emotionally. Al will tend to keep rather alone when he isn't out adventuring and gathering badges, hiding away in his parents old cottage, reading away the days in calm silence. The Alaricus 'behind the walls' will rarely surface to anyone other than his closest Pokemon and it would take a close friend to find that deeper man. Now, as any Hero, Al is touchy when on the subject of people or things he cares about. If his friends, family or even his beliefs are under attack he'll go into super defensive mode. He vehemently follows his religion, which is confusing and obscure so don't ask about it. If you mock it he'll ignore you. Whereas, if you mock him... granted he'll probably laugh it off, it'll hurt him and he'll, more than likely, silently agree with you. However, he won't show it and'll retaliate with a jab of his own and then move on like nothing had happened, brooding quietly and out of sight on what exactly had been said about him. Be it a blow at his beliefs or his parents, or even just a little jab at his hair; it'll hurt. Now, referring to the actual Trainer aspects of Al. He's a pretty bold guy and does most things honestly and earnestly. He won't cheat and resents anybody who does. He treats Pokemon like a breeder would; with love and care, giving them anything and everything they could need while also keeping a decent grip on their behavior so they don't get spoiled. He has a tendency to lean towards ghost type Pokemon for their tricky natures. He loves Pokemon, like... Enough that I'll go ahead and mention it in Likes. He grew up without television so he had to read his way into knowing about Pokemon and whenever he read about Ghost Types, which was unfortunately scarce, he just felt a sort of affiliation with them that he couldn't try to explain. Finally, Al is less the athletic get-into-it trainer. He's more the knowledgeable quick trainer that keeps both he and his Pokemon informed of the incoming competition. Because of this, he isn't all too keen on impromptu encounters but will participate if he feels he and his Pokemon are up for it. He also won't keep his number one in a Pokeball and any given point in time. He sort of treats them like royalty. He doesn't pick the favorite though, he lets his Pokemon team prove themselves in battles to earn the perch on his shoulder. If a Pokemon is missing out and consistently doing badly in battles he'll let the poor thing have the spot for a week. If he ever has a bigger Pokemon like a Charizard on top he'll let the fire type walk, because honestly it'd be better for the both of them.
