She knows a lot about being a good coordinator, and she shows it in the way she cares for her pokemon. She is very kind to her pokemon, and can often be seen brushing them. She is, however, a surprisingly quiet girl with a bright mind. She is smart, and rightly so. She is often lost in thought, usually about a specific person or a combination she wants to try. She is loving and kind, but she tends to show that side of herself to her pokemon only. She doesn't speak to people much, and even then prefers to think about them rather than herself. They lived in peace with the Dragon-type pokemon, and often had many dragon types around the village. They had a culture rarely found in any other village. When Maika was only three years old, her mother came home with a Dratini that she had gotten from a friend. It was a strange color, purple rather than blue, like the others. It was obtained as a friend for Maika, and it became just that. The Dratini, who Maika named Dranette, went everywhere with the little girl. Everyone knew about the little child with the strange purple Dratini. Eventually, it became a norm in the village to see the Dratini following Maika around. When Maika was about five, a new girl moved into the village. The girl was named Tanya, and the family brought along quite a few new Pokemon from another region. There was one that looked like an ice cream cone, but entirely white and blue. Another was like a grey and white Pidgey, but smaller. They said they were from a place called Unova, a strange new region that intreagued Maika. She did her research on Pokemon from other regions, becoming gradually more interested as she learned. Maika's life was rather uneventful after the arrival of the family from Unova. About a year ago, Maika's home caught fire. The house burned to the ground, and Dranette was caught inside. The Dratini didn't make her way out of the fire, and the loss greatly affected Maika. They went to live with some relatives in the Kure region, in Big Root Village. It was strange to Maika, who had lived in a small village her whole life. There were so many new pokemon, as well. Se eventually overcame the loss of her Dratini, and heard of a lab in the forest not too far from their village. Maika learned of some others that were going to the lab in order to get a new pokemon. Maika decided just recently to follow the other trainers that had gone to the lab, now realizing that becoming a trainer was the best way to overcome the loss of her Dranette. She made her way to the village near the lab with little incident, and is approaching the lab now. The way they move just freaks her out.
