Maika left the village of treehouses, following a guide who she had met at the Pokemon Center. She hadn't understood the natives, but thankfully the one she'd met understood her. She looked around as they walked, entranced by the pokemon she saw around her. There were some others that she hadn't ever heard of before. Being in Kure only a year, she didn't know too much about the world outside Jhoto.
"This is the lab," her guide said. He nodded to her, vanishing into the trees.
"Thank you," Maika replied to his retreating form. She entered the lab through the main door, stopping not long after she'd entered. She was enthralled by everything around her, making sure to stay out of the way of the lab assistants. There were so many pokemon around here! So many new pokemon that she'd never seen or heard of... Some of these, she'd seen around Big Root Village, and some of her cousin's friends had them, but she didn't remember what the pokemon were called.
She turned when she heard a voice call out to her. The Professor?

The sleek haired man with big round glasses sat at his lab table staring into the green liquid on the table. It had just come from a green grimer and was being experimented with to see it's properties. The best thing was Professor Creep had all the time in the world. It wasn't like he every looked clean, so why stay clean. Soon enough he heard the lab door open causing his head to move and his feet push his wheeled spin-able chair down the tile flooring. "Hello." the man spoke as he peered at the new comer in his lab. "Are you here from a pokemon sir." his tone was dark and would make any girl want to run away.

Maika shuddered at the sound of the voice behind her. She turned around, spying the professor she'd been told to avoid. She'd been told he was a strange one, rather antisocial, but she wanted a pokemon. She had to deal with him until she got her pokemon. Then she could leave. She nodded at his question.
"Yes sir," she said. "I came from Big Root Village to get a pokemon from the Professor here... Is she available?" Maika knew the main professor was a woman, and honestly prefered her to this creep, even though she'd never met the woman. Anyone would be better than this freak. Then again, she could just take her pokemon and starter pack, then get back to her cousin's house. It wouldn't be so bad... As long as she could get away from this freak unscathed.

The sleek haired greaser looked over the women with a prolonged stretched and curled grin. His ridged smile could even make Jack the Ripper look like a lamb. The light reflected off his glasses to the point all that was seen was the white in his glasses and the male could see through them. "Of course miss. Let me get some for you. So please make your self at home~" his tongue rolled with a suggestive tone as he spoke his last few words. He quickly pushed himself on the wheeled chair hence sending him towards a wall, his hand sliding against the shelves gently tapping things before grabbing a few pokeballs and rolled back. "Here you go." he held out the pokeballs with their pictures of the pokemon inside.

Maika made a face at the man's back, the suggestive tone of his words not escaping her notice. She was going to get out of here as soon as possible, then get to training with her new pokemon. Her expression simplified before he turned back around, though, so he wouldn't have been able to see the face she was making at him. She looked down at the Pokeballs in his hands, smiling when she recognised one of the pictures. A girl from her village in Jhoto had one, and that girl had come from Unova. The one that looked like an ice cream cone. She took the pokeball from the man, smiling.
"I'd like this one, please," she said to him. Vanillite. She was already relatively familiar with this pokemon, and knew it's basics. She'd have a better time with this one, as opposed to the others. At least, she hoped so.

He gave a bit of a devilish smile as the young girl took the pokeball with the Vanilite in it. It didn't seem like it took her long, but that was one of the things that Creeper didn't seem to notice. He nodded, taking some papers off the counter and handed to her. "Why don't you sign these papers first, then you should be all set. Wouldn't that be great?" Creeper's tone didn't seem to change much through this, and he knew that most people didn't like.

Maika rolled her eyees, taking the papers from the creep. Just do it and get out, her instincts told her. With the pokeball in her hand, she walked over to a table, setting the pokeball down next to her as she bent over to fill out the papers. She found a pen nearby and used it to finish the paperwork, leaving the pen on the table she'd found it on.
"Alright," she said, holding the completed paperwork out for him to take. Simple questions. Full name? Maika Luna Retana. Age? 16. She checked the box asking if she wanted to do just contests, as they'd always held more attraction for her than the brutality of a gym battle. She knew she was supposed to get a starter kit, so she waited around a bit more, hoping she would get the starter kit without having to remind the guy. She really just wanted to leave, get going and work on training her new pokemon, but there had to be something else to do.
