Well, not that she doesn't like them, but more that she's afraid of them. Her life has been full either people teasing her or shunning her since she was young. This has made her a very shy, meek, person. She also has a lot of Survivor's Guilt, so she thinks that she's not worthy of having any friends. Yes, the poor girl blames herself for what happened to her parents. She thinks her scars as just something to remind her of what she did, her punishment for killing them. As you could guess with this information, she's very quiet. Adeline would melt into the shadows and stay there if you let her. She's not very keen on meeting people, being the type to stutter and be easily intimidated. As much as she doesn't really enjoy other's company, she's kind of lonely and craves some sort of friendship, where no one judges her on her scars. Since she's so meek, she could be easily bullied into doing whatever someone wanted and never say or do anything about it. One of her favorite pastimes is reading, and she is currently a little scared of Pokemon, especially the fire type. [/style][STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 10px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: 10px;]ABOUT PAST EVENTS[/style][STYLE= margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px; border: 2px solid #191919; padding: 2px; font-family: verdana; height: 125px; overflow: auto; font-size: 10px; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff; opacity: 0.8]So what is it you would like to know about this girl? Her hopes? Dreams? Maybe why she has those scars all over her? All in due time, friend. All in due time. What you should know first is possibly probably maybe where it all began. She had a pretty nice childhood. Early childhood, that is. Her parents were the kinder sort, a pair of Breeders who met in their younger years and married. It was a happy little home, eventually made happier by the birth of a pretty baby girl. This baby girl was named Adeline, and she was the center of her parents love. 'Was' being the key word there. See, some things come with being a Breeder. Usually this is the actual breeding of the Pokemon, or fluffing them up and making them happy, healthy and beautiful. It's not all Sunflora and Dewgongs, though. Sometimes Pokemon of the more vicious, uncontrollable types comes in. These are special cases and hardly happen, but it just happened to happen, and maybe it happened at the wrong time? When you're a child, you want to poke and pick at things, especially new and exciting things. And so it was done, with the wrong Pokemon at the wrong time. A Trainer had managed to capture a Charizard, and it was very happy about it, so she brought it in to calm it down. Then Adeline got to close. It was hell. The entire ranch was up in flames. Her mother was trapped inside one of the outer feed storages. She didn't make it. Adeline's dad managed to get his daughter out of a building, but the cost was his life, and it was not without a price to the girl. She doesn't remember much of it, just burning and pain then everything gets foggy. Seems like to her that she lost a few days of time after the incident, the fire happening then her lost in some timeless black space until she woke up in the hospital. The poor girl was badly burned, with most of the right side of her body, from her face to her legs scarred. Most of it was on her back and shoulder, but some was on her hand, and perhaps most grievous her face. If you want more details on this, an image of it can be found here (click). You can only try and grasp the pain she felt, being so young and then having your parents, the entire life you knew, taken away from you like that. And of course she blamed herself. It was her fault that the Charizard had went rampant, she was to blame for this. After months of recovery and misery in the hospital, she was sent to live at a children's home. It was a smaller place, and was basically an orphanage, but the caretakers were nice. Here she learned she was different. The stares she got, the pity and disgust, how some of the other children teased her, or worse just refused to get around her, as if she were diseased. This on top of her grief made her very reclusive. Her mindset turned into 'I'm a freak so people avoid me. I killed my parents, so I don't deserve friends anyway.' Overtime this morphed, she got a certain anxiety from having to talk to people, from fast movements and loud noises. She was skittish. To avoid this, she would bundle up in long sleeves and scarves and hats, not matter how hot it was, and go to the Library. Most of her time was spent away from people with her nose in a book. When she turned fourteen, she was ordered to go see a therapist. Her social relapses were worrying to her caretakers, and being a ward of the Region, they wanted an individual that could take care of herself someday instead of relying on someone. She would pulled out of regular school, a hell in itself but she was in a special classroom which lessened that blow, and put into a kind of home-school. She would visit him every three days and talk for an hour. He was an older man, a bit old fashioned, but kind. It was hard for her to talk with him, but he managed to get a few small things from her. Fours years and they never really scratched the surface, though. It was a shame, but when she turned eighteen she was still just as bad as before, maybe even worse in her ways. Though her old therapist was kindly, it was judged that it would be best if she saw someone else. A young woman with new ideas and ways of thinking, she was a bit pushy and rushed Adeline into a situation she wasn't comfortable with. The new woman thought it would be best for her to get out and meet people, get her confidence up. She was given a Pokemon, a thing she had not gotten around since the incident, and was forced out the door. With basic Items in tow, her job was to participate in contests as a way to gain confidence. When she won so many Ribbons, that was when she would be counted as 'cured'. [/style][STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 10px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: 10px;]SECRETS [/style][STYLE= margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px; border: 2px solid #191919; padding: 2px; font-family: verdana; height: 125px; overflow: auto; font-size: 10px; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff; opacity: 0.8] Adeline doesn't really have a whole lot of secrets. She mostly keeps to herself, so she can seem like a mystery ,but she's really not. Her biggest secret she keeps is her past, since it troubles her to speak about it, and that she blames herself so much for what happened to her parents. If anything, she's more of a blank slate, just living in the present, but can't let go of the past and has no thoughts on the future.[/style][STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 10px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: 10px;]LIKES & DISLIKES[/style][STYLE= margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px; border: 2px solid #191919; padding: 2px; font-family: verdana; height: 125px; overflow: auto; font-size: 10px; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff; opacity: 0.8]Adeline is not a very picky person, but she does have a few likes and dislikes. She likes chocolate and music boxes, as well as small plushies or dolls. Reading is another thing that tops her list, with fantasy books being her favorite. As for dislikes, she isn't fond of loud noises or quick, sudden movements, as they make her nervous. Spicy food burns her mouth and she strongly dislikes sour flavors. She is terrified of Fire type Pokemon, even the small cute ones, and is just wary of the creatures in general.[/style][STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 12px; margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; text-align: center; font-family: courier new]application was passed by Genocide[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=valign,top][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 40px;][STYLE=background-color: #f1e3b4; font-family: courier new; font-size: 30px; color: #404040; min-height: 150px; padding: 5px; text-align: center; moz-border-radius: 0px 10px 10px 0px; -o-border-radius: 0px 10px 10px 0px; border-radius: 0px 10px 10px 0px; -webkit-border-radius: 0px 10px 10px 0px;]l e e n y[/style] |
