"...Dionne?"
A rumble of disapproval from his Larvesta.
"Flo?"
Another one.
"Cindra?"
Once more.
"Hm..." Shane hummed as he thought deeply on the names that might be suitable for the Larvesta.
Currently, he was walking through the forest, making quite a bit of distance from the lab. Where to, he didn't know, but, at the same time, it was exciting to walk into unknown things. Provided things didn't turn ugly fast.
"Oh! Oneida!" He shouted, looking quite proud of himself. He glanced upwards, trying to see the oddly-colored bug despite the fact it was impossible to do so. Nevertheless, the wait was exciting as well. That name sounded unique! Well, to him, anyways.
The Larvesta gave the name a long thought and she wondered if the human had put any meaning behind it. Regardless, she continued to think about it. At last, she finally chirped her approval of that name. Her chirp was barely felt, but Shane felt it and he was elated about it.
"Alright then. Now, uh... You should know that I'm deaf, right?" The young man asked, wondering if Pokemon could sense such things.
A rumble of a no resounded through his head and he sighed. Right, okay. Time to explain stuff.
"So, I can't hear anything at all. I can only feel sounds, which is why I responded to you." He explained, waving his hands this and that way, almost as if he was struggling to use Sign Language. With a sigh, he thought to himself about things, not really paying attention to where he was heading towards. His walking was controlled by the light chirping and the deep rumbling.
Helpful, but he needed more. But what? That was an issue he couldn't seem to solve.

There happened to be a Pokemon around. It was resting in a tree high above the duo, trying to relax and take a nap. A soft breeze stirred it from it's slumber, the wind bringing the voice of the boy below to his ears. Oh? There was a human down there? That wasn't something seen so often in this part of the forest. Leaning over slightly, it tried to get a look, sure it was safe from harm high up in the tree. As soon as the Pokemon leaned over, as light as it was, it made the branch lurch, and it was sent tumbling downward. "COOTTNEEEEEEEEEE" It squealed as it fell. It landed, mostly unharmed, in a pile of leaves at the base of tree, just as the boy was passing by. Stunned from the fall, it did not have the thought to try and flee. Luckily enough for Cottonee, Shane had noticed the falling Pokemon and stared at it as it laid in the pile of leaves. Uh, it looked a little weird, but was it okay? He took a step towards the fallen Pokemon and a vicious rumble sounded out into his head. That didn't sound good. Unfortunately for the grass Pokemon, Oneida had promptly decided it was a threat to her human. While she wasn't fiercely protective of Shane, she understood his disability and was willing to try to help out in every way she could. Attacking that poor Pokemon was her cruel idea of making sure he was safe. The Larvesta hissed as she crawled down Shane's body and glared at him as she got closer to the Cottonee. Once the young man didn't do a thing, she turned around to face the Pokemon, hissed at it, and spat small balls of fire at it. Lvl. 5 Flame Body Ember|| String Shot (Oneida used Ember!)

The poor Cottonee. It hadn't wanted to bother anyone, and now here it was, dazed and confused. And then that bug had crawled down and it was on fire and panicking. The dry leaves around it also caught, making it even hotter on the Pokemon. Already some of it's white fluff was either slowly melting away or turning into a black char. In a frantic panic, it drew on nature and tried to sap of health from it's opponent with an Absorb attack, even though it would still be futile if it hit. "Ah! Oneida! Stop that!" Shane cried out, but not stepping forth. He didn't want to be attacked by her Embers or be seriously injured by her. It seemed like his cries had fallen upon deaf ears, if bugs ever had visible ears. He turned his eyes from the Larvesta to the poor Cottonee that was on fire.
Oneida allowed that weak Absorb hit him, feeling the green tendrils set on her body and winced as some of her energy was sucked away. That little bit energy wasn't important. what was important was getting rid of this 'dangerous' Pokemon and she prepared to spit fire balls at the poor Cottonee again.
What could he do? An idea came into his head and he quickly fumbled around in his backpack. He found a poke ball, saw Oneida trying to breathe Embers again, and threw that poke ball while attempting to withdraw the bug in her ball.
Shane was successful in withdrawing the apparently protective bug into her ball. Next time, he'd have to make sure to not let this happen again. With a sigh, he watched on, wondering if his throw was successful.

Of course the ball hit. And did the Cottonee take notice? Not really. In fact, it was sort of relieved when the feeling of fire went away and burning eased off, to be replaced by a feeling of nothingness. The ball didn't even shake. It had simply captured. The Pokeball lay still, holding Shane's new Pokemon. Laying still and bright in the midst of a few charred leaves, like a ripe berry ready for the taking. Oh wow, that capture was quick and easy. Shane had thought it was a trick of his mind. He had learned that something like this didn't happen all the time. No, in fact, it was rare. He didn't think the conditions that surrounded Cottonee were there. It was impossible for him to know it was weaker.
Nevertheless, he carefully picked the Cottonee's poke ball out of the charred leaves and proceeded to stomp on them to make sure they wouldn't smolder into a fire. Even with a light rain going on, he didn't want any fire to happen just because the leaves were there while Oneida went insane on a poor Pokemon.
The young man shook his head and kept stomping until the leaves stopped glowing and simply turned to black. There, now he could keep on walking. And walk he did, just... walk. He did keep an eye on his surroundings since he didn't want let Oneida out to repeat that event again.
What would happen to the young man as he walked?

Little did Shane would know that his little battle would attack some unwanted attention to himself. The smoke from the fire attack and all the noise had awaken a Pokemon. Its eyes open and dropped down from the tree and landed on the ground in the form of a yellow armor like Pokemon. A wild Kakuna has appeared! Wrapped in it's cocoon the Pokemon would stare down at his foe. Shane doesn't know is that Kakuna might be close to evolving than usual which could spell big trouble if he don't defeat it in time. This would also attract more Pokemon to swarm him. What will he do? Will he fight it before it could evolve and bring more trouble? Or will he attempt to run away? Shane honestly had thought he was okay now, and didn't think that another Pokemon would pop out so soon after that battle and capture. Unfortunately, a Pokemon decided to drop down, and it wasn't what he wanted to face against. He knew what it was, and what it would be after evolving: a Kakuna. Great, just great. He had two options: fight or flee. By the looks of its cracking shell, it was probably wise to flee.
He knew that this particular Pokemon had little mobility, causing it to have issues in moving from a place to another place. With that in his mind, he skirted past the bug, and literally ran as fast as he could through the forest. Having a Kakuna follow him was not a good thing. Having a mad Beedrill was not a good thing either.
Hopefully, he would be much more closer to the village at the speed he was still running, provided a Pokemon didn't get into his way.

A certain Pokemon happened to be bouncing around and playing in some leaves. She was still just a puppy and didn't really know her way around yet; what to stay away from and what was good. She had also wandered a little to far away from her nest, but she didn't realize this and was happy just being an innocent and having a good time. Shane noticed a light brown creature bouncing around in a pile of leaves, and stopped when he came closer to that creature, he realized it was actually a Pokemon. Maybe it wasn't, but it was cute! After kneeling down to watch it play around, he noticed that it looked young. Maybe it was actually young? If so, then why was it playing out here without its parents, if it had any?
"Hey?" Shane softly called out, hopefully grabbing the pup's attention before continuing on, "Where are your parents?" Naturally, he had to assume all Pokemon could understand the human language -- well, most of them. He was banking on this pup's understanding of human language. However, it was possible it wouldn't understand him at all.
Continuing on, the young man asked, "Would you be interested in coming with me?" His voice and tone was soft and quiet, and sounded a bit choppy, but that was only because of his deafness. Anyways, his intention behind the second question was really to try to find this pup's parents so it would be safe. However, it was possible he would not find them, and he would be tasked with taking care of the pup. Regardless of his choices, he was fine with whatever turned out to him.

The little puppy Pokemon pricked it's ears up when it heard Shane. What was that big creature?! She lowered her body and stepped closer, sniffing the air and scenting him. He didn't smell bad... so he must have been nice! She yipped playfully at him, then rolled on her back, her tail wagging so fast it seemed like it would fly off at any second. She hopped up and bounced around his feet, growling lightly, wanting to play. Yes, there was a good chance this Pokemon would come with him, even if she really didn't understand what he was saying. Sadly, there was something watching from the bushes... there was a reason the Lillipup was supposed to stay close to the nest.... Shane chuckled at the pup's energy and desire to play with him. Well, he could play with the pup if it wanted him to play with it that badly. He proceeded to playfully ruffle its hair when he could, and gently shoved it around. He repeated this process until he started to feel there was something around here beside these two. The young man looked around with a critical eye, and he couldn't find whatever it was that was giving him a bad feeling. He pulled a ball out of his pocket, and threw it at the ground, unleashing Oneida. The Larvesta shook herself and glanced around, hissing lightly when she noticed the Lillipup. However, she dismissed the pup since it wasn't attacking or being dangerous at all. So why...? "Come out!" He challenged whoever it was with a demanding tone. Oneida hissed in agreement, even through she didn't know what was going on, bristling and growling, occasionally allowing a flame to shoot out one of her horns. Obviously, she thought she could rip whatever Pokemon apart with her attacks. She was quite a vicious Pokemon... Lvl. 6 Flame Body Ember|| String Shot (Oneida is wary!)

Lillipup lvl 5 Hearty | Female | Vital Spirit Leer | Tackle | Oder Sleuth Lillipup was eager to walk over and sniff the other Pokemon when she it was released. It smelled like soot! And it made funny sounds! She liked it! She leaned in to sniff it again when another scent hit her nose. As soon as she smelled it, the Lillipup hunkered down, tail between legs, and whimpered. She backed up and hid behind Shane, seeing as he was the biggest thing around that she trusted at the moment. At the challenge, a Pokemon slipped from the shadows. It slipped it's tongue out of it's mouth and hissed, tasting the air. So, now there were two tasty treats and human? That was okay. More for him to chow down on. The large Pokemon almost seemed to chuckle at the 'challenge' from the human and his treat. Oh well, he would humor him for now. Seviper lvl 7 Naughty | Male | Shed Skin Wrap | Lick |

Shane heard the pup's whimpers, and saw it hide behind him. Whichever Pokemon it would be was probably a bad one. Perhaps, some form of a hunter or a bully? He wouldn't know until that opposing Pokemon appeared, and he waited for it to come out. Eventually, it did, revealing itself to be a Snake Pokemon. It appeared to be a male, due to its size and how it held itself against the Larvesta. The snake was probably prideful as well, and the young man hoped the snake wasn't too powerful. If it was, then he was in trouble. Snakes usually reacted faster than humans, and it could catch him before he could run off with the Lillipup. "String Shot, and then Ember!" The young man called out as quickly as he could before the snake had the chance to try to strike them. Oneida obeyed gladly, hissing and screeching at the snake, trying to show him up. It was likely the Seviper would ignore the show until she spat out grayish sticky strings at his mouth and some parts of his body. Afterwards, she had fire balls burst out of her horns and propelled them towards the snake. During the entire time, she wasn't sure if any of her attacks would hit the snake.
